I'm not a fan of this kind of post‑processing, but as I'm slowly preparing to wrap up — and at the same time reach the culmination of the season — I'm working through every piece of data to bring it to some sort of “final” stage.
This is M44 — the Beehive Cluster, an open cluster in the constellation Cancer. It holds a special place for me because it was the object that started my journey into astronomy, and later into astrophotography, when one evening I accidentally pointed my binoculars at it. This cluster is visible even to the naked eye as a faint, misty glow.
