The Sun in H-alpha light at 3 different scales

A DMK21AS camera was used with a Solarmax ll 60, BF15 H-alpha scope to image the Sun. A focal reducer was used with a short nosepiece so that the whole disk could be imaged. Two images were produced, one exposed for the disk and the other for the prominences:


The active part of the Sun was imaged at prime focus:


Four overlapping images of the active regions were combined to produce a transect across the Sun:
