This image of IC 1396A comes from three nights under the light‑polluted sky in Swansea city centre, with an initial 14 hours of integration later reduced to 10 hours after NSG selection. Even with the trimmed dataset, the signal held up well and the final stack turned out pleasantly clean.
The capture was done using the Askar 71F and ZWO ASI183MC Pro, with the L‑Extreme filter helping isolate the nebula’s structure. Guiding ran through the Evoguide 50ED + ASI120MM, and ASIAir handled the session. Processing was completed in PixInsight.
This project wasn’t about chasing perfection, just about spending a few quiet nights collecting photons and seeing what the data had to offer.
A modest result, but a satisfying one.
