M69 and M57

M69: Just 4 minutes of luminance data was collected on this object prior to it being lost in the cloud. This small globular star cluster lies in Sagittarius at a distance of 27,800 LY and is very low down when viewed from South Wales, so is a difficult object to image.

M57: I added just 20 minutes more of Ha data to M57 (The Ring nebula in Lyra) of this SHO composition before being clouded out which I combined with 45 minutes of SHO data taken back in May. This is a comparatively small planetary nebula and so requires a larger aperture than the 80mm scope used to image this object as the wide field image shows. Even so it is possible to capture some detail of the gas clouds and get a hint of the central white dwarf star.
