My first image using Seestar S50 in EQmode from last night. I ran it from 20.30 to 23.15 so for 145 minutes and recorded 100 minutes of images. Thus it still had a fairly high stacking failure rate. However it was very easy to use in EQ mode. I had set the Seestar at 52 degrees earlier in the day on a spare EQ5 mount and aligned it roughly at the Pole Star during daylight. It turned out I was close enough with both Ascension and Declination without any further adjustments, so I conclude polar alignment of the Seestar doesn’t need to be very accurate. The Auto focus failed as it so often seems to do so I ended up using manual focusing.
