IC1396 (Elephant Trunk nebula) done 3 ways: Using a borrowed Altair Starwave 70mm triplet refractor fitted with a 0.8 x FR (courtesy of fellow SAS member Anne Startup) I imaged two separate narrowband data sets of SHO and HOO accordingly using an ASI 533MM Pro camera and mono filter set. The SHO data set comprised a 3 hour capture composed to incorporate the bright "Garnet" star ("Erakis") and the 2 hour HOO one excluding it, to focus mainly on the area known as the "Elephant's Trunk" nebula itself. The different data sets were integrated and processed separately in Pixinsight and then the two images were star aligned and blended together to produce a combined SHO/HOO image.
