The image was captured in Ha,SII and OIII under dark skies in Portugal in 2022. This image has been re processed from the RAW FITS files in Pixinsight. The Pixinsight process resulted in monochrome non linear (stretched) masters for the three narrowband channels. In addition a star only image was created.
These four images were saved as 16 bit TIFF files and opened as a stack in Photoshop. Each layer was background neutralised to prevent colour casts. Then each layer was colourised in line with the SHO palette, and adjustment layers for Levels, Curves and Hue/Saturation used to produce the final image.
The base layer was the SII in RED with the OIII, Ha and Stars images blended using screen mode.
