Sun in Ha

Sun in Ha: Data was taken through partial cloud using a PST fitted with a Player One Apollo-M Mini camera and a x2 Barlow lens. The PST was driven with an AstroTrac running in solar tracking mode, mounted on a portable pier, sheltered from high winds by sighting the rig in a doorway. Focusing was done via a home made 12V stepper motor and push button hand controller using Astro DMx Capture to enlarge the Sun's image on a laptop monitor and then using the software to capture an SER file comprising 2,708 frames. The SER was then taken into Autostakkert!4, where the best 20% of the frames were stacked using x1.5 drizzle. Wavelet processing was then performed in Registax with post processing done using Pixinsight's solar toolbox with final adjustments made using Adobe 2024.
