Pleased to report that we saw the eclipse! We almost headed off for better weather, but with road conditions being so congested and with us having to fly back tomorrow it was better that we stayed put and we hoped for some gaps in the cloud which paid off. It was a fabulous eclipse - about 4 1/2 minutes of sheer magic! It was touch and go right up to the wire, but then the clouds parted and we saw totality! I managed to get images before totality as the Sun was partly obscured by clouds and this showed the shadow and shadow bands approaching as the last bit of the Sun's photosphere peeked out from the valleys of the moon. There were two large pink prominences and a glorious corona with one streamer extending way out away from the Sun and we even got a double, double diamond ring! We saw Jupiter and Venus and the horizon colours were a beautiful orange colour.
