H-alpha solar images

1. 2 images taken with a Lunt 50mm solar scope and an Altair 178M Hypercam. Best 30% of 2000 frames for surace and promenences. Region of interest selected giving me a frame rate of around 140 frames per second. I was getting around 50 frames per second at full resolution. I knew I needed a new laptop!

2. 1 image taken using Jim's Quark on an Altair 80mm f7 telescope and a GPCam. It's got larger pixels than the Hypercam so better suited to longer focal lengths. The Quark has an integral 4.2x barlow. Best 25% of 1000 frames surface and prominence. I did get some of the prominence showing on the surface image.

All videos stacked in Autostakkert!3 and surface ones sharpened in IMPPG. Images tidied up, coloured and combined in PS3.

1) Lunt images

2) Quark image
