Star party at the National Botanic Garden of Wales

On Saturday November 16th, the Swansea Astronomical Society held a star party at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

Thanks in particular to Andrew, Alistair, Alison, Phil and Chris for everything they did.
Despite the weather 60 adults turned up plus quite a lot of children and a dozen or so scouts who were staying overnight in the Great Glasshouse.  Alison and Andrew kept everyone thoroughly entertained throughout the evening, especially the children, and Chris did a talk to a 'full house' and Paul entertained the scouts afterwards.  One youngster came along with his scope and Chris was able to get it working - not often that that happens.  Also there were a few expressions of interest in joining the society.

The next Star party at the Garden will be on Saturday Feb 22nd and we are hoping to use the refurbished Theatre, possibly with a planetarium inside.
