Panstarrs and Videography

A monochrome, 0.5" chip Mintron, frame integrating video camera was placed at the prime focus of an f/5, 80mm refractor mounted on a Merlin AZ tracking mount. An AVI of 30 x 5.12s (256 frame integrations) was captured using Steve Massey's GStar 4 video capture program, via a USB capture card. The AVI was stacked on the comet in Registax 5 to produce the final image:


The image can also be viewed on a video monitor:


This is an ideal observation technique as well as an imaging method.
