Professor Chris Lintott - A State of the Universe

We were very fortunate this evening that Prof. Chris Lintott from the University of Oxford came to gave us a talk (over Zoom of course!)

The title of the talk was "A State of the Universe". This covered a number of interesting topics including exoplanets and the Gaia data set with a number of interesting graphics. We are interested to learn the exoplanets are being imaged directly now, with more and more being discovered - although no aliens yet :)

At the end of the talk, Chris reminded us that http://www.zooniverse.org is still active and needs volunteers as much as ever - so if you are at a loose end over lockdown and the rainy winter nights, why not identify some variable stars? :)
