A Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ72 bridge camera mounted on a static tripod, was used to capture 179 images at 1/320s exposure and 60x optical zoom in bursts of three. The images were precisely cropped in Nicola's Astrocrop software.
The best 90% of the images were stacked in Autostakkert!3.1. The resulting image was wavelet processed in Registax 5.1 and post processed in Glimpse (a fork of the Gimp).

Great picture! This camera is so acceptable, the zoom is fabulous, the nature of the camera is brilliant, its tough and all around made however its not very cumbersome, it fits in your sack or the GEM huge camera case splendidly. Camera has a decent weight to it, so its not substantial on your neck. We took this on our special first night and utilized it each and every day in day off sun, it's ideal and the image quality is stunning, the zoom is a standout amongst other I've seen and even at 60x despite everything it gets obviously. A standout amongst other purchases we've made.
